Yorke Cottage is a charming semi-detached Victorian cottage located in  'The Custards', a quiet part of Lyndhurst. It is one of twelve cottages in a small no-through lane with a field at the end. Access to the open forest is a 200m stroll from the cottage and yet it is only a five minute walk to the centre of the village.

The cottage sleeps four, having a double bedroom with a king size bed and a twin room. It has a lovely fully fitted kitchen with range cooker, a dining room and a cosy lounge with a living flame fire. Outside there is a garden with patio furniture and a barbeque, and a shed suitable for storing bicycles. The cottage  has full central heating and off-road parking for one car.

Lyndhurst, the capital of the New Forest,  is a bustling village with a variety of pubs, cafes and restaurants as well as some excellent local shops. There is a visitors centre giving information about all the local attractions and places of interest.

Lyndhurst is ideally placed to explore the New Forest, either by car or by foot (and you needn't even get in a car!). There are endless varied walks  across open plains or through wooded areas and the forest itself is beautiful at all times of the year.

Changes

Although most people seem to enjoy the character of the cottage as it is, we hope to continue to improve the standard. In 2005 we  put a new carpet and two new sofas in the lounge, a replacement carpet in the second bedroom, and all bedrooms had new pillows and duvets. In January 2006 we fitted a brand new bathroom.
